A BILL to amend article ten-a, chapter eighteen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
two-b, relating to increasing the rate of pay for
nonteaching support personnel employed by the division of
rehabilitative services to the amount paid to education
service personnel holding the same or similar job titles for
the board of education in the county where the
rehabilitation service worker is employed.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article ten-a, chapter eighteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section two- b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10A. VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION.
§18-10A-2b. Rehabilitation service personnel.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine
hundred ninety-eight, nonteaching support personnel employed by
the division of rehabilitative services shall be paid at the
equivalent daily rate of education services personnel employed in
the same or similar job classification by the county board of
education in the county where the rehabilitation employee is
employed. Nothing in this section may be construed to cause an
employee's rate of pay to be reduced.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase the rate of
pay for nonteaching support personnel employed by the Division of
Rehabilitative Services to the amount paid to education service
personnel holding the same or similar job titles with the Board
of Education in the county where the rehabilitation service
worker is employed.
